Set, often referred to as Set the Deceiver, is a primordial deity worshiped on the jungle continent of Zanaga.
Story[]
The serpent god Set is the most enigmatic of the primal gods of Zanaga. Unlike the other, more outright destructive gods, Set has an appreciation for mortal arts. However, lying, cheating, stealing, and killing to gain an advantage are also favorable in the god of deception's eyes.
Set is worshiped primarily by the serpentine nagas, who believe Set to be the first of their kind. Set has bestowed great powers to his most favored naga priestesses, who rule over the naga cults as leaders. These hypnotic powers are capable of bringing even the strongest warrior down. Nagas believe the massive Set will regain enough power to devour the other gods one by one.[1]
As with all of Zanaga's gods, Set is believed to have been slumbering for centuries. It is speculated that if Set ever resurfaced, he would usher in a new golden age where learning and knowledge would be valued. However, Set's deceit would corrupt all living creatures as each person struggled to dominate those around them. Civilization would likely collapse within a generation.[2]
